Father's Day Around Here

Since we're talking about maps I thought it fitting to share our Father's Day. You see, our Daddy is quite an adventurer. He's not a snob about where he goes, he'll go anywhere. Adventures await around every corner and I love that about him.

So for Father's Day we wrapped his gifts in maps from our recent trip. I thought this would be fun but the kids LOVED it. We ended up almost using an entire roll of tape (tape is sooo much fun) reminiscing about this and that and giggling about how silly Daddy was when he....

Anyway, I thought this post-worthy because it opened up my packaging options. Using a shopping bag from one's favorite shop or a favorite fabric or maps, you get the picture. There are a lot of options to making a gift even more special. Remembering the good times is what it's all about.

For extra fun I want to share how the kids showered Daddy (and his car) with love. Lots of sweat went into making his car shiny. You may notice we have a few extra hands helping out. Our neighborhood family sometimes calls our patriarch "Daddy Dave" and evidently they wanted to help honor him too (or it was just a hot day). Much appreciated no matter the intention.
