Little Birdie Party

One of our dear friends celebrated turning two with an intimate gathering of close peeps at her nest. We were delighted with all the birdie details.

Mom, Krista, put a lot of thought into the sweet birdie theme and called upon her very talented sister to help with a few special details. (Trust me when I tell we are all lucky that Rachel set up shop and has allowed 'outsiders' to also experience and own her treasured pieces.)

Wood Charm Necklaces

Some close friends took a girls trip back to visit family in New York. They had what looks to be an amazing trip discovering the woods and fireflies and mostly being immersed in a highly creative space.

The family hosts are some of the most creative people I know. You may remember this post and this one too? They really know how to combine nature's treasures and make amazing new creations. Best of all they are passing it along to a new generation. Talk about inspiration!

Our little friends brought home individual wood charm necklaces that were personalized and carefully created for each of my kiddos. These will be treasured forever--and I'm not exaggerating.

Scavenger Hunt Cards

Check out these scavenger hunt cards from Blynken and Nod. We put them to use this week in the hood. What a great way to get out of a rut and see what else is blooming around us.

I sent Anna and her friend out with the deck and a camera and asked them to find as many things as they could. No need to bring the treasures home, just snap a picture and leave it be. Finding a pine cone in the summer time was an extra challenge but lucky for them I have a garage with many things overflowing. What do you know...a sole pine cone waiting to be digitally captured.

A day late and a dollar short. I just came across this print from Doe-c-doe. This would have been perfect for the husband for Father's Day. Maybe next year.

I feel a room overhaul brewing for Parker and see some inspiration here. I love the vintage simplicity in these prints.

Woodroots & Woodrootlings

Creativity flourishes! I am so excited Rachel has started an Etsy shop, Woodroots, to share her beautiful creations. I have a few pieces and have gifted others. I love them all. Everything is handmade and designed by freehand (read: one of a kind). You must take a look for yourself.

I really love this oval mixed fiber wall art. Presently it is out of my budget and doesn't go with my current design. But that doesn't stop me from frequently visiting her shop and keeping an eye out for something that might work better.


This recycled brown leather purse may be a must-have. The perfect sling to carry essentials as you run to town or grab some fresh flowers from the farmer's market.


I am even more fond of Rachel's "earth loving children’s imaginables" from her other shop Woodrootlings. Love, love, love. How unique is this primitive stick horse?

I'm thinking thisfish on a stick would be good for my boys. So many cute and one-of-a-kind creations. I almost don't want to share the secret.

Lovely Cowls

I know it's hardly cold in So Cal by everyone else's standards but our heater is blowing cold air and I am the biggest baby there ever was when it comes to being cold. So, I find myself deep in Etsy shops lusting over these lovely cowls.
