Monday morning is a little rough for me this week. I'm coming off a serious high from a private, secret show with John Mayer's Trio (including Steve Jordan on drums & Pino Palladino on bass) plus Ian McClagen on keys at the legendary Troubadour. Somehow the stars aligned and I was the recipient of blessed timing.
Only a couple hundred tickets were released at the door at noon on Sunday (with about a 15 minute Internet announcement of the show). It just so happens that we were in the neighborhood touring my Dad around LA (we live in suburban OC). I'm hardly an LA girl but date night at the Troubadour was pretty awesome.

I kind of don't have the words for a lame blog review of the show. Somehow that would seem to taint the intimacy of the experience. I will say that being with really great musicians loving what they're doing is infectious. John wrote that it was a soul recharge and I would have to agree.
The set list was a perfect blend of old, new and great covers.
Hmmmm. Back to Camp Mom (just not as glamorous, is it?).
P.S. Not my photo. Not sure who to attribute credit to but I wanted to share the show poster with ya'all. Cool vibe, huh?
