I have alwys loved a good tree house and wished I had one of my own. I don't know what the fascination is about entirely but I am sure it has a little something to do with the imagination that is set free in such a space and the partnership with nature.

The combination of escapism and creation is an appealing way to glide through some of our days.

The connection with nature is the main point, right?A good tree house starts with an impressive, mature tree and a little space is nuzzled within it. I love that stability and firmness coupled with the lushness of the leaves. It's a very cozy feeling being the nook of some good branches with an umbrella of leaves over head.

And don't forget the whimsical. Wouldn't you just love to spend some time in this house over a river? Drop a line in the water and when you're done just jump in and take a dip. So magical!

Anyway, I love these houses. The whimsical organic play that comes from these spaces is priceless. Since we aren't able to house one of these abodes in our current home I may just settle for the playmobil versions--for the kids, of course. (I'm loving all things Playmobil!)

This will certainly be under our tree this year. The forest lodge AND the tree house. How fantastic.

I also like this one. It would be good for my little guy--not too many little pieces and a nice open structure.
