Ok, so you've heard me say before that I am not especially witty or an expert at anything in particular so it shouldn't come as a surprise that one of my summertime goals was to complete Tori Spelling's book Stori Telling. That's right, the light semi-sensational, not-at-all intellectual read topped my list. Here's why:
1. It came on high recommendation from my literary, always-ready-something-good-friend, Adrienne, who by the way is a published author.
2. I have an unhealthy fascination with pop culture. I am trying to grow out of it but still care about very insignificant trivial and personal aspects of people's lives. (Let me say for the record that I have made steps toward recovery and do not purchase the tabloid mags anymore, not even People. I am trying to stop feeding the beast that haunts these poor people. But I digress...)
I have to say, that I actually like Tori now. At least what I have gotten to know. Like everyone else, she has a sad story she is working to overcome. I like that she works hard and doesn't moan about it. I have snuck in some viewings of Tori and Dean and kind of like it. It's not going to enlighten me or make me think about things that really matter but it's a harmless retreat that I was surprised I liked.
So, it's a bit sad that I am half way through summer and only have one book to show for my reading list. I better get hopping. Any recommendations?

3. I root for the underdog and want to know her side of the story that has made headlines (again, not that it should be NEWS at all).
4. I need to get back in the practice of reading and thought a light book would lure me and keep me interested. I wish it wasn't so but this particular season of my life has me terribly drained at night (my only shot for reading) and I need something I can escape to.
So, after a vacation which left me no opportunity to read whatsoever (How is that? You ask. Three kids and a husband. Need I say more?) I stayed up our first night home and read the book.
