The Parent Trap

Saturday, June 28, 2008

As parents who sometimes feel overextended or like we just want to wave the white mercy flag, we can so easily fall into the trap of letting our kids run the remote. I'm not a big fan of my kids watching a lot of television but when they do I like to be sure they are getting decent messages.
I will usually pick up a new movie and provide the great reveal on a road trip. We went to San Diego for an overnighter with friends (that's another post) and thought it might be time to switch things up a bit.

So, I'm loving the good old fashion Parent Trap. Not the Lindsay Lohan version but the classic version where the children have manners and say, "How do you do?" and "peculiar" and "swell". I guess I am a sucker for old fashion goodness.

Yes, we are big fans of the old Disney stuff too....the bonus is there are no toys/food/clothes marketed to kids based on these movies!!

My all time fav kid movie for sure. That and Miracle on the
34th street, with Natalie Wood.
I haven't shown it to my m & m's yet. I may need to soon, so I can remeber it all.
