DIY: Table Makeover (Sort of)

Tuesday, August 18, 2009
We have been very busy bees around here with nary a moment at home. Lots of visitors and lots of summer fun. (Hence the lack of posting.)

But, all this activity can't squelch our creativity (is that what we should call it?). After a long day at the beach the kids were hunting for materials to build a fairy house. In their quest they happened upon a lone table labeled "free". They rushed home with hopeful anticiaption that I would allow this rejected table to become their very own.

"It will make the best fairy house EVER."

So, figuring I had a pile of donations to make anyway, why not let them indulge in their vision and when the novelty wears off, I'll add it to the pile.

Somewhere along the way the fairy house vision was superseded by a decorating makeover...

Bring on the paint.

And don't for a second think the underside will be neglected.

Completely fabulous, right?

I was heartened to see that the artists remembered the underside of the table - an often overlooked (but critical) part of the whole picture. I will offer you $600 for this work of art.
