Every once in awhile you come across someone who is so passionate and so gifted in nurturing and teaching your little one that you never want them to outgrow that space in time. We were lucky enough to have just that year and Mrs. G was just that teacher.
The typical teacher gifts that I like to give didn't seem fitting for her, so I scoured and looked far and wide. I discovered the most perfect book for a special kindergarten teacher like Mrs. G.
Mrs. Spitzer's Garden is an adorable story of a teacher who lovingly nurtures her garden (a metaphor for her class).
I paired that with one of our favorite flowers and gave her a gardenia plant. And, in case you're wondering, we don't really say good-byes around here very well. We prefer to say 'until later'. We'll be writing Mrs. G a lot of letters this summer and will certainly be getting hugs in the hall next year.
