The husband likes to have personal pizza night (usually in conjunction with family movie night). Everyone makes their own pizza exactly how they like it. Christopher loves a good Hawaiian (Canadian bacon and pineapple), Anna likes black olive, Daddy does the works, Parker is still developing his palate and I usually try something different (almost always including artichoke hearts) and 'gourmet'.
Recently, with the encouragement of a friend who had already perfected grilled pizza, we took our pies to the BBQ. Personally, I prefer the grilled pizza to oven baked. I like a thin crispy crust and it was perfect on the BBQ. Certainly your crust thickness and cooking time can be altered to your tastes.
Give it a go. You can get specific how-to from Sunset here or Martha's version here.
Cheers to dining (and cooking) al fresco.

My fav. is grilled shrimp, carmelized onion pizza with no red sauce, just good olive oil, salt and pepper and cheese. We just did this last week too before we headed out of town.
