Anna hit another milestone this weekend--just in time for her birthday. We have been a velcro and buckle family (that is, when we aren't in our flip flops) and have very few lace shoes. (Read: Poor excuse for not practicing tying our shoes.) Some times I think parenting is about getting out of the way and letting the kids' aptitudes surface. When they're ready, they're ready.
Anna decided on Saturday that she wanted to wear a new pair of shoes that had been waiting in her closet. She had been passing them by because she couldn't tie them. Then, in true Anna fashion, she decided she was going to master it that night. And she did. Clinching four out of the first five tries.
Her pride goes far beyond these pink converse. She's really a big girl now.
