I love this DIY Advent garland from Vicki. Each day reveals an activity (bake neighbor cookies, make wrapping paper, etc.). I love this DIY Advent garland from Vicki. Each day reveals an activity (bake neighbor cookies, make wrapping paper, etc.). It appeals to my desire to DO things together and create great memories, not just start the day with chocolate. What a great way to bring the kids into the joy of the season.

This is an adorable idea I need to file it away for next year.
I don't "DO" things like you (or find the enjoyment in crafts or cooking), but I like this idea! I just need to adjust to what works for us. I also don't want to open a candy-a-day advent thing, so we open a wrapped Christmas book every day in December. The kids love "unwrapping" (and reading the book at night) and I reuse the same books every year! I love this tradition too.
