Is the butternut squash soup the one with the ginger and white onion? The one we used to make in college? I need to make that again...I had forgotten all about it! Also, need more info on that curry dish. That sounds delicious.
Mybelle: It was d-lish. The big kids loved it and Lil P enjoyed it too. Some for the fun of it (think finger paint with soup) and some for the flavor.
FYI, I did add some nutmeg. I didn't notice a big difference but I think I'll keep it in the recipe now.
Jora: Yes, it's Mai's old recipe. Or at least my memory of Mai's recipe. It's a goody.
As for the curry, don't get too excited. I have two nights a week that the slow cooker is my friend. This is one of those nights. I need dinner to cook itself if we are going to have a good meal, bath and homework after piano and theater. Anyway, I ramble (but that is my life...).
The curry is just chicken with carrots and potatoes and TJs yellow curry sauce. Brandy swears by it. Not too spicy for the kids but tasty enough for the rents. Serve over rice.
This is where I share my inspirations, creations and motivations. You may be lucky enough to catch an occasional rambling possibly brought on by libations.
